IDS has developed innovative approaches to deliver quality smart power products that provide essential regional knowledge in a way that appeals to both soldiers and civilians. Since 2008, IDS has supported its trainings with a series of Provincial Handbooks, maps, and reference cards to deploying units and their civilian counterparts. These training materials provide a concise and contemporary overview on specific provinces in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Based on interviews, field experience, and other unclassified information, these guides help orient and inform civilian and military personnel to the obstacles of the stabilization process.
